Behind the scenes of a food blog - find out what it's like to run a food blog full-time!

Another month gone! Happy April – the month of springtime, Easter chocolate, and… a bit more Easter chocolate?

March was super busy for me – we’ve well and truly entered the ‘nesting’ phase of this pregnancy. One of the most exciting additions to our house this month was this:

New fridge!!!!!

Sorry, I’m not usually one for excessive use of exclamation marks, but I am so flipping excited about this new fridge. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but this thing is huge (it’s taller than I am!) – and there’s a lovely huge freezer below it too. After I transferred all the food across from my old (cram packed) fridge, there was still nearly two full empty shelves! I don’t know what I’m going to do with all that space. Our old fridge was horrible – the shelf in the door snapped off long ago, the light was broken, and the temperature was all over the place. So this new one is very, very welcome. There’s even a special bottle rack for the non-alcoholic bubbly I was given for my birthday. Yay.

We’ve also finally started buying some baby stuff. So far we’ve only got the pram and the car seat, but that seemed like a good place to start – we thought we should at least start buying the basics, just in case she decides to make an early appearance. She seems pretty comfortable in there though, and is already bonding with Pip, who enjoys using my bump as a headrest. I like to think they’re silently talking to each other in some kind of language that only tiny, adorable creatures can understand.

As for the blog, I managed to share 9 new recipes on Amuse Your Bouche this month, which I think is pretty good going considering it’s a real struggle even to pick something up off the floor these days. These were the three most popular recipes from March:

Raspberry and blueberry oaty breakfast bars
Nutty tofu lettuce wraps with peanut sauce
Vegetarian Irish stew

By the way, let me know if you see my belly poking into any of my photos over the next couple of months. I’m having to be quite careful about which photos I choose, as my belly is developing a habit of creeping its way in.

Only for the next couple of months, mind – if around Christmas time you see my belly in a photo, just keep it to yourself. No need to be rude.

I also had five recipes published on Brit+Co this month, which you probably won’t have seen yet unless you’re a superfan / stalker.

Creme Egg rocky road
Cheesy lentil shepherd’s pie pie
Chocolate cookie butter pie
Roasted red pepper and aubergine dip
Irish soda bread

As usual, thank you for all the lovely photos you’ve been sending me of your versions of my recipes! They never fail to put a smile on my face. Here’s the latest batch:
