Ploughman's burgers

  • 2 good-quality veggie burgers (homemade or shop-bought)
  • 2 wholemeal bread rolls
  • 2-3 tbsp onion chutney
  • leaves Small handful mixed salad
  • 4 slices thick of mature cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 apple, sliced


  • Cook the veggie burgers according to the instructions on the packet.
  • Cut the rolls in half, and spread the onion chutney over the bottom of each. Top with a few salad leaves and a couple of thick slices of cheddar. When the burgers are cooked, add them on top, along with the sliced apple and another dollop of chutney. Replace the tops of the rolls, and serve immediately.
