Cinnamon plum porridge

Ingredients

  • 100 g rolled oats
  • 100 ml milk use a vegan version if required
  • 1-2 tbsp brown sugar optional
  • 3 plums cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Add the oats and milk to a saucepan, and mix well. Place over a medium-low heat and cook gently for around 5 minutes, stirring regularly, until the mixture has thickened to your desired consistency (cooking it longer will make the porridge thicker). Add the sugar if desired.
  • Meanwhile, add the plums, orange juice and cinnamon to another saucepan, and place over a medium heat. Cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the plums are warm and soft.
  • Serve the porridge topped with the plums and more brown sugar if desired.
