Slow cooker caramelised onions
Sweet, melt-in-your-mouth slow cooker caramelised onions that cook low and slow until perfectly caramelised, with no effort from you!
Servings: 4 servings
- 4 large onions
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried sage, oregano or thyme
Halve the onions, remove the skins, then slice them thinly.
Place in the slow cooker with all the other ingredients, and mix to combine.
Cook on high until cooked to your liking, stirring every hour or two to help them cook evenly. Mine took about 4.5 hours, but even just 2-3 hours will give a tasty result.
