Indian spiced potato wedges with coriander lime yogurt
Do any of you own a Tefal Actifry? My husband and I have been lusting after one for months, and I was lucky enough to be sent one before Christmas, much to our delight! (…is ‘much to our delight’ something that someone in their mid-twenties should be saying? Not sure.)
If you don’t know what an Actifry does, it basically fries things in only one tablespoon of oil. I don’t know how it does it, but it makes the best chips ever.
Just in case you didn’t quite hear me, I’ll repeat: the best chips ever, with only one tablespoon of oil to make the whole batch! It’s a dream come true!
When we first got the Actifry, we had chips (that’s fries to some of you) for dinner four days in a row… then I think we went back to them after one day off. They’re so good!
The machine has an arm that rotates, tossing the chips (or whatever you’re making – it’s good for stir fry, risotto etc. too) round in the oil so everything gets evenly coated. This also means that you don’t need to give your chips any attention while they’re cooking – you don’t need to turn them over halfway like I usually do with oven-baked ones. The only downside that I can find with the machine is that it’s seriously noisy (it sounds like a plane is taking off in my kitchen!) – but, when your dinner needs no supervision, it’s easy to shut the door, put the telly on and ignore the noise.
This time I decided to branch out a bit, and use the Actifry to make Indian spiced potato wedges. You can add the spices into the pot along with the potatoes and oil, so it toasts the spices gently as the wedges cook. Of course, if you don’t have an Actifry, you could make these potato wedges in a normal oven too – just make sure you toss the wedges thoroughly in the oil and spices, and turn them over once or twice during baking.
I also made a simple coriander-lime yogurt to go alongside the wedges. Got to have something to dip them in!
(by the way, I had to edit out a scratch from my hand in this photo. Little puppy has sharp nails!!)

- Meanwhile, combine the Greek yogurt with the lime juice, chopped coriander, and some more salt and pepper.
- When the potato wedges are soft in the middle and crispy on the outside, serve them with the yogurt dip.

Disclosure: this is not a sponsored post. I was sent a free Tefal Actifry to try out, but I was not otherwise compensated for this post.
Not thought of using spices when making chips other than chilli or paprika. These look delicious and I will give it a go. I always make chips in the oven with a minimum of oil, but they always turnout to be very tasty.
I’ve heard so many good reviews about Actifry and those wedges look delicious!!
These sound really good. No machine here so I’ll try them in the oven.
oh these sound delicious , I actually keep asking my hubby to get me one of those tefal fryers , healthier option to the one i have now
Becca…these look so fantastic!!!
Love potatoes in ANY Way!
I have an Actifry too but I haven’t been very adventurous with it yet. These sound really nice though, something I need to try! Roast potatoes come out so good in the actifry!
I haven’t tried roast potatoes in it yet! Definitely on the list :)
Aaaaaand now I want an Actifry. =) That’s a great idea for an Indian side dish! I love making curry, but it always seems a bit lonely on the plate with just rice to accompany it.
I would love an actifry.
What a super recipe I must try this.
The Tefal Actifry makes fab chips doesn’t it…I must admit I haven’t done wedges in it yet but we love spicy so will definitely try your recipe out. :)
I am totally obsessed with my Actify. We honestly ate chips every night the first week we had it – I just couldn’t resist!
Haha we’ve definitely eaten more chips in the last month than ever before :D
